Summit FUTUREFLEECE Full-Zip Hoodie delivers ultralight warmth for alpine layering
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"This hoodie packs big warmth in a featherweight build. I layer it under a shell on alpine missions or wear it solo on shoulder-season hikes. The FUTUREFLEECE material feels soft against the skin and never weighs me down—plus the thumb loops and helmet-compatible hood are clutch."
The Summit FUTUREFLEECE Full-Zip Hoodie keeps us light, warm, and fast in the alpine. Built by The North Face as part of the Summit Series, this high-efficiency midlayer delivers next-level warmth without the bulk, thanks to its ultralight FUTUREFLEECE™ fabric. It’s our go-to piece when moving fast through technical terrain or pushing into exposed elevations where every ounce and layer counts.
The soft, grid-knit fleece offers an impressive warmth-to-weight ratio, while the slim fit makes it a perfect pairing under shells or insulated outerwear. Underarm gussets and raglan sleeves maximize mobility, and the flatlock seams reduce chafing under a harness or pack. The minimalist hood fits comfortably under helmets, and thumb loops seal out drafts during high-output movement. This hoodie is a staple for mountaineering, glacier travel, and cold-weather ascents.

NO POCKETS!
No pockets , Northface girls love pockets for our hands! Thumb holes are good but pockets are the best! Seriously, rethink the summit series jackets back with pockets.

Pockets, please!!!
How many reviews do you all need to see before adding pockets to this jacket?? Love the Future Fleece. Also why are there so many more male items and styles and colors? On a positive note, you have added a (one) add'l color since I last purchased.

Women need pockets too! Should not have to say it!
I had a north face future fleece jacket that I loved. It kept me warm when The temperature dropped below what I was expecting. I did not overheat. I could take the jacket off and shove it in my backpack. It was super light. Never wrinkled. Not waterproof, soft and somehow kept the water out. But after so many years, it is worn out. I've been looking for years for a replacement . But for some reason, your designers don't put pockets in there anymore. That's a dealbreaker. I need a place to put my hands when it's cold. I finally gave up and bought another brand. So disappointed. Hope you get a better design soon and put some pockets in the jacket waist.

I won't buy again
For the price I'm a bit disappointed. I thought it was going to be thicker.

BEST TECHNICAL FLEECE ON THE MARKET
Bought the white version for my long-distance running Mother as a Christmas present. She liked it so much for running in the winter that she asked me to buy the turquoise one for her for her upcoming birthday. I myself have several colors in the men's version I wear as a mid-layer while skiing.

Nice jacket. I thought it would be thicker. But love the color and the fit. I wish it had pockets.

Disappointed then surprised
This jacket is lightweight so when I open the package I was disappointed and ready to send it back. One night I was cold and gave this a try and my body warmed up instantly. I would agree it doesn't feel worth the price especially being made from recycled polyester but it does keep you warm.

One of my thinnest jackets
I bought this in green because it was Such a pretty color in the store. But it's too thin for me. Good for warm spring- early summers. No side pockets is a real disadvantage. Only has one breast pocket My NF Denali jacket keeps me warmer than this. This one is for layering but too slim fitting to wear much underneath it unless it's thin too. Good as a thin jacket to throw over a t shirt on days with cool AMs, warming in the afternoons. Saw it the next year in a lovely berry color which I prefer but don't like this jacket enough to buy 2 of them and the price jumped considerably.
