Offtrail TR delivers trail-tuned protection and grip for off-road adventure
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I’ve used the Offtrail TR for scrambling, steep hikes, and technical trail runs. It feels incredibly stable and protective without being heavy. The Kevlar-reinforced Matryx upper holds up to abrasion, and the full-length outsole coverage and forefoot wrap give me solid grip and confidence on rough terrain."
When the trail disappears and the terrain gets rowdy, we lace up the Offtrail TR from The North Face to stay agile, protected, and surefooted. Designed for technical off-trail missions, this shoe thrives in rugged environments from bushwhacking ridgelines to tackling loose, steep scrambles.
At the core is a reinforced Matryx upper with Kevlar for lightweight durability and support, paired with a high-tenacity ripstop rear for added resilience. A protective toe cap shields against rock strikes, while a responsive EVA midsole delivers balanced cushioning with a 6mm drop. Underfoot, the SURFACE CTRL outsole features 5mm lugs with full-length coverage and a forefoot rubber wrap for traction and durability across sharp, unpredictable terrain.

Love these! Buying my third pair
I use these for work standing and walking around all day. They are very comfy and feel perfect even when you first put them on new out of the box! these have good support and are great for planter issues with my arch support insole put in and don't forget the Gore Tex.

Comfort, Style, Durability
Walk on pavement and gravel 3+ miles everyday. Fantastic cushioning makes it easy on my knees and feet. Very stylish, a handsome profile. I wish the blue color was available in the States. I love these shoes!!!

Disappointing
Started off with high hopes for this shoe, turned out pretty disappointed. Was looking for a shoe for trail running and hiking in muddy, wet Norway (previously had Altra Lone Peaks). First experience with North Face trail runners, will not be trying again. I've been going for hikes pretty regularly, but nothing too crazy that put extreme wear on the shoes. Purchased October 2024, and by April 2025 there are holes and significant wear on the treads. Pros: - Comfortable for my wide feet out of the box, 30+ km hikes no problem at all with no blisters, foot paint, etc. - Style points, works well for urban exploring as well when its raining or trails Cons: - Laces loosen quickly, need to be retied constantly - Holes in waterproof membrane, shoes no longer waterproof - Treads worn significantly - Extremely slick on wet rock and ice - Feet do get hot

warm sneakers
The sneakers are comfortable, the foam is very soft, what I didn't get is the sneakers are very hot, making my feet sweat. Maybe its a nice idea during the winter.

Cozy, Comfy, Light. These shoes are one of a kind. Not only are they very nice, but they also make you feel like you are walking on clouds.
