Force AXS Shift-Brake System delivers refined control and effortless braking

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"The new Force hoods are a huge upgrade—super comfortable even on long rides, and the braking is so much more responsive. One-finger control from the drops is a game-changer for technical descents, and I really like the Bonus Button functionality for device control. It just feels like everything works exactly how I want it to."

When we’re putting in big miles or pushing the limits on race day, we want braking and shifting that keep up with every move. The SRAM Force AXS Shift-Brake System is redesigned from the ground up with rider feedback at the forefront—delivering more comfort, better control, and less fatigue through every mile. A new hood shape fits more hand sizes with textured paddles and grips for confident feel, even when our hands are soaked or covered in dust.

From the hoods or the drops, the stiffer calipers and carbon levers give us one-finger braking power that feels light and controlled. The eTap shifting logic is intuitive, the Bonus Button adds extra versatility for device control or auxiliary shifts, and Bleeding Edge technology simplifies maintenance. It's everything we need in a shift-brake system—refined, responsive, and ready for any ride.

Huge Improvements over old Rival

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have put around 12-13k miles on the old 12 speed Rival AXS hoods/brakes. Now if you did not know any better you would think they are pretty solid...however, the new E1 Force blows it out of the water by miles. The new shape is perfect for holding on and I can find a perch that is comfortable for hours. The ligthtness and smoothness of the levers is crazy. Truly one finger braking, whether up that the tops or in the drops when descending. Power levels are much more impressive, great for gravel or road use. The new lever shape is also something to talk about. It just works! The bonus buttons are better than on the new RED, and I am happy about that. I love using it to change screens on my Wahoo ACE and keeps things safe when descending or if I am sweating out of my eyes and do not have the bandwidth to move my hands. The brakes stop properly when bedded in and are super quiet with paceline rotors. Pairs up in a jiff with AXS ecosystem. If you have been debating on whether or not to change. Let this be your sign!
