Lite 209 Saddle
Built to relieve the pressure that many race saddles place on the pudendal nerve and surrounding soft tissue, the Selle SMP Lite 209's pronounced central channel eliminates numbness to reduce fatigue. The unique beak shape provides a flat base while sitting, but reduces pressure on the genital area. It's designed for pants ranging in size from medium to extra-large, the rear of the saddle has been raised to provide an optimized position during hard pedaling. The Lite 209 is made with a nylon/carbon composite shell for efficient power transfer and an engineered flex for comfort. The stainless steel rails also provide mild shock and vibration absorption. Cushioning over harsh terrain, the saddle's foam elastomer padding is wrapped in supple leather or microfiber (depending on your choice) to deliver all-day comfort.

Another Great Selle SMP!

I’ve been using SMP saddles for about 5 years. Have them on 2 road bikes, 1 gravel bike and 1 town bike. Love them all. I run them level - not tilted down like some folks like. The Lite 209 feels very similar to my SMP Well or my SMP Well Gel. It’s nicely padded but in no way mushy. I’ve never liked hard saddles, even when I was a young crit racer. Being leather with raised stitching, the Lite 209 does NOT allow you to freely slide around on the saddle. You sit on it and there you stay. This is typical of most SMP saddles in my opinion due to the shape. If you like to move around while you ride, you might not like this. But for me, the SMP shape is so comfortable and easy on the body (no numbness, no tingling, no saddle sores) that I don’t need to move around. And while on the heavy side, the Lite 209 is a thing of beauty. Fine Italian craftsmanship. Beautiful leather, stitching, etc. Knurled rails that won’t slip in the seatpost clamp. Hope this helps.

Same Shape, More Padding

I have been riding the Selle SPM Dynamic on all my road bikes for the last 15 years. When I bought my first gravel bike last year I found that the Dynamic was not as comfortable off road as on. A little more padding was in order. The Lite 209 perfectly fit the bill as it is essentially the same shape but with about 3mm thicker padding, This take the rough edges off on the "washboard" surface common on local gravel roads. Highly recommended if you like the Dynamic and are looking for a bit more "plush". Note I have always ridded either the black or white leather versions of the Dynamic. For the Lite 209 I chose one of the colored (red) microfiber versions. The microfiber is wearing well and is easy to keep clean with soap and water.

This is a very well made and comfortable saddle. I purchased one for my first bike and I loved it. I purchased this one for my 2nd bike. The key to the Selle SMP saddles is to run it with a -1 to -3 degree nose down. Holds you in the pocket but you can still slide up to the nose when you need that power. I’d purchase again. Highly recommend. Find the one that fits your sit bones and enjoy the ride.

Really good saddle

I been using this model for the last 8 years, rode more the 10,000 miles. This years I tried others models, from SMP and selleITALIA. This is my third one, for me this is the one. Usually I ride 70 miles a week.
