Here's what customers have to say
The reviews for these running shoes are mixed. Some customers reported issues with durability and comfort, while others were very satisfied with the cushioning, responsiveness, and overall performance. Some experienced problems with the sole wearing out quickly, the foam feeling too soft, and the shoes causing ankle pain. However, many praised the comfort and cushioning, finding them great for both running and everyday wear. The shoes seem to be a mixed bag, with individual fit and experience varying.

Not near as good as previous versions
So I am a lifelong Ride user. My last shoe was the Ride 16. First put these on and they just felt wrong. Did some measuring and it seemed similar to the 16, but still feels off. -Laces are excessively long and elastic like so dont keep a tight fit on the foot and are always swinging in the way as you run. -The width of the sole on the front is a tad more narrow and feels very awkward. -The sole in general still has the weird trench in it that runs to the back of the shoe, which in wet conditions creates a suction cup effect. Slowing you down. -The Powerrun+ foam, I will never be a fan of. Over thought "tech" that under delivers. -I wear a size 12, but these shoes run big in the length, and narrow in the width. So your foot slides a little forward and back, while also getting uncomfortable tightness around the width of the shoe. Combined with the weird laces, half the time it feels like the shoe is never tight on the foot. -The height of the shoe around the heel/ankle, feels very short when first worn, likely improve as the shoe is broken in. -The roll at the front of the shoe feels a little too much for a casual/every day trainer. -Colours are pretty limited and very bland, this is a personal preference. In closing, I dont know if I will go ahead with buying Rides. Might switch over to Brooks shoes going forward. I considered returning these shoes, but I wanted to try them out on the road to really see if I was getting mixed signals or not.

After 100 miles, no complaints.
The Ride 18 is a really good neutral trainer and a nice departure from the max-stack craze. The Ride 18 is light, nimble and great for all kinds of running. Stable and forgiving, it may be vanilla, but it’s a premium vanilla. Saucony did an excellent job with the components of this shoe and they work well together.

Great shoe, but laces too long
I've been running in Saucony shoes since 2001, and the Rides since 2012, and definitely love the shoe, however, the laces keep getting ridiculously longer. I ordered a pair and received them at the end of June, and when I lace them up to go running, the laces are practically touching the ground, so I have to tuck them in, or else I'll be tripping over them.

Fall Apart Quickly
It is pronounced Sock-Oh-Knee because you'll be getting compliments on your socks. Ripping between the fabric in the sole exposing my sock / foot. Light use. City walking.

Fast wear on soles
I bought these shoes about 2.5 months ago. Love the comfort and feel of the shoe. However, after only 130 miles of running on streets and sidewalks, the shoe is showing what I consider to be significant wear on the sole. I switched from Asics Cumulus which didn't start to show this type of wear until about 250 miles. First time using Saucony; is this normal wear? If so that is disappointing because I really like the comfort and feel.

An unfortunate step in the wrong direction
I found these shoes to be a real disappointment. I've loved the Ride 15 and 16 and have put hundreds of miles on them but this iteration is a real step backward as a shoe that you can actually train in. Specifically, there is way too much foam underfoot and it is kind of mushy and dead feeling, like you are losing energy every stride and have no feel for the ground underfoot. The worst problem though is that the foam is too soft on the outside of the heel and will just collapse if you roll your foot side to side. I always run in a low structure / neutral shoe but you still need to be able to feel the plane of the ground relative to your ankle of bad things happen in your stride and injury results. This feels like a walking shoe or something comfortable to stand around in all day but has stepped away from its pedigree as a shoe for serious running.

Good shoe
The shoe is great, but the last iteration and this one suffer the same issue, the sole. The way the crevasse in the bottom is designed it creates a suction cup effect, especially on wet ground, that is not just annoying to hear but causes some slight delay in your stride and ultimately depending on how long you may be running it does add to fatigue because of it, even if it is slight.

One of my favourites
The Ride is one of my favourite go to shoe from Saucony. It is a true runners' shoe in the sense that it is the total package; cushioning, flexibility, and responsiveness with a touch of inherent stability. The updates of the Ride see it getting lighter, with improved cushioning and fit. I recently did a 50k rail trail race and they held up well; my legs weren't as beat up as they usually are after a long race. It is a great shoe for just about any type of run including hard tempo efforts and Marathon paced efforts. If you didnt want to spend cash on a plated trainer, then this could be a single quiver shoe for the conscientious consumer. My only concern is that the rubber on the outsole is beginning to wear quickly. Although it is likely an aesthetic issue, it is something worth pointing out. Overall, I believe the shoes will last a long time due to the amount of overall cushioning and I will continue to pile up the miles on my new Rides.
