Why We Like The Salomon Sense Ride 5 Trail Running Shoe

Whether we're going for speed or distance, we lace into the Salomon Sense Ride 5 Trail Running Shoe. The breezy upper keeps our feet from overheating, while the ghillie lacing and Sensifit construction give our midfoot a customized hug to keep us comfortably locked over the platform. As we stride, the foam's balanced energy softens our strikes just as much as it powers our toe offs for a plush yet lively ride.

Here's what customers have to say

The trail running shoe provides good grip, comfort, and support. Reviewers praise its cushioning, stability, and lightweight feel, making it suitable for both shorter runs and longer hikes. The quick lace system is convenient, though some find it less adjustable. The shoe generally fits true to size, though a few recommend sizing up slightly. While some find it an improvement over previous versions, others prefer the fit and feel of older models. Overall, it is a highly recommended trail shoe that performs well in various conditions.

These are my 2nd pair of these in the past year. They have been great. The grip and comfort is the best I have found. I hike primarily in the Tetons and love them for the mountains. I recently did a 18+ mile day hike in them and my feet felt good after.

Love my Salomon Shoes

I bought these to replace my old ones. I put them on and went and run 8km. My feet felt great! Shoes were a perfect fit. Then completed the 10km Klondike Ultra

Great for mostly smooth trails

I bought these for a 10 mile trail race since the sole on my last Salomons wore out. These shoes were awesome on smooth dirt, gravel, and the intermittent pavement sections. Where they let me down was on a rocky section (rocks were about an inch in size) and the bottoms of my feet felt like they were taking a beating. Also, by mile 8 I couldn’t wait to be done and take the shoes off because the toe box just isn’t roomy enough. I’ll use these shoes for shorter trail runs (not more than 6 miles) because they are mostly pretty nice shoes. Salomon, please consider offering a little more room in the toe area!

Grippy and comfortable!

I’m on my 5th pair of the Salomon Senseride shoes; I recently wore them for the approach to a climb in Leonidio. The approach trail was steep with lots of loose gravel, but I was able to climb it like a mountain goat. Descending after the climb was no big deal either., I was able to grip the trail well and (added bonus) my feet were comfortable. I highly recommend.

Perfect for trek

My feet are a bit wider than average, and the fit is perfect. Also, the grip of the sole on slippery surfaces is excellent.

Love them!

I love these shoes! I purchased them for gravel walking/running and they have been excellent. They are super light, my feet don’t get hot, good ankle support. However, I did get a blister on the back of my foot when walking a longer distance than normal — just hoping that it’s me breaking in the shoe and not something consistent!
