Why We Like The Redington Wrangler Kit
The Redington Wrangler Kits are multi-purpose fly rod combos with each kit designed for different species of fish. Each kit includes a 9-foot Redington Wrangler fly rod, Redington Crosswater reel, and RIO fly line—everything we need to get on the water. The medium-fast action rods are versatile and easy to cast while the Crosswater reels feature carbon disc drag systems for reliable stopping power.
Redington assembled each of these rod, reel, and line combos for a specific fishing application. The standard trout is a versatile 5-weight while the Trout XL is a 6-weight earmarked for big trout and bit and beefy flies. The other rod and reel combos in the Wrangler series include a 7-weight bass-specific rod, 8-weight salmon rod, and 8-weight saltwater rod that's specifically designed for stripers, redfish, and bonefish.

Don't buy: Broke after a few casts.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Must have cast is 4 or 5 times before the tip broke. These were regular fly casts. Didn't hit the rod on anything, drop it or anything like that. Took good care of this rod and the tip. This has happened on 2 different tips.
