I keep one in every vehicle

I have a few of these boys although not as rugged as the alpine which I carry with me in the back country, it is really light and packs down easy for assurance when you might need it. Part of my 10 essentials for a day hike or to keep in my vehicle for backup.

Good Cold Weather Bivy

Good for cold weather, tested this out on the AT the other weekend and it was good, the pole is a little flimsy and gets annoying trying to keep it up right. Not good for mid weather climates gets really muggy inside and the condensation builds up over time. Overall great product and lightweight will be using this product!

Field tested, field approved

Bought this for my Marine Corps infantry field ops, and it has not disappointed. It’s lightweight and low profile save space in my pack and allow me to bring more operational essential equipment. There’s a small issue with the condensation on a humid night but if you’re in your woobie or a light sleeping bag you won’t feel it and every time I’ve packed it up wet, by the time I’ve unpacked it for the evening it’s been dry. The different zippers for having an accessible mesh bug net or a completely enclosed bivy are money for those hot humid nights or chilly mornings. I compared it to the issued USMC bivys and they’re roughly 1/3 the width and 3/4 the height.

Sweetness

This is the only bivy ive ever used but it was great. The pole helps keep the material off your face when zipped up and bug net is a great touch. I did get extremely closterphobic the first time I zipped in, but thats a me problem and the zippers are easy to find and use. The only thing that could make this bag better is if there was a zipper on the side to take a leak from in the middle of the night, as the shimmy out of the bag and bivy takes some time and effort lol. Used it on a moto camping trip (with great weather luckily) and looking forward to more UL missions with this setup.

this bivy does not has only support pole! the bivy collapses around you. Overall I should have done more research instead of relying on OR's reputation for producing quality well engineered equipment. This one is headed to goodwill.

Solid Bivy

The Bivy delivers in all advertised points. It’s light and durable and the screen is nice when you want some air but not at the expense of bug bites. I think there could be some tweaking in the bivy’s screen to make it more stable and rigid. Love the coyote color. Hope they continue to make products with this color.

snug and dry

great addition to my kit, been using for a month now during overnights in the Alaskan interior. keeps body heat in well, blocks wind and big win, keeps the mosquitoes out!! been in temps down to 40°F now with winds and bouts of heavy rain, has done fantastic so far in both staying warm and dry. packs up small and dosen't take up much room in my pack. getting in and out can be a circus act for a large guy, I'm 6'5" and 260, but once I've wormd my way inside is plenty long I can fully lay out. thus far I've mostly used just my woobie and stay plenty warm, one of the wet cooler nights I added my patrol bag to level up a bit. was great inside. there is some breathing moisture that will build up when fully zipped in. and when it rained hard, I had to unzip a bit to get some fresh air in. otherwise this has been a great addition to by outdoor excursions

Not bad for the price. would like to see it come with 2 side stakes to make it more stable and secured. but it does its job.

Solid lightweight option

I used this throughout multiple environments in New Zealand during the spring. I didn’t have the money for an ultralight tent, nor the space since I brought a ton of splitboarding and backpacking gear, and it was perfect. Super lightweight option, incredibly quick and easy to set up, surprisingly warm too. I definitely would not want to use this in the rain however, and when it did rain I was lucky enough o set it up under a shelter, so never really tested it’s waterproofing but I bet it would be pretty miserable.
