Dynalock Ascent Poles
Quick to pack and light on their feet, the MSR Dynalock Ascent Poles are the perfect companions for steep skin tracks and snowy trails. Designed with backcountry skiing and snowshoe hiking in mind, they feature the ultralight strength of Kevlar-reinforced carbon, and they use MSR's Quick-deploy design when you want them stashed away. Adjustable by 20cm, DynaLock mechanisms use tool-free tensioning to guarantee that the poles stay at the length you choose. MSR equipped them with a comfortable foam grip—plus a lower grip for sidehilling—and included both summer and winter baskets for your year-round convenience.

Here's what customers have to say
The reviews for these trekking poles are mixed. Many customers praise the poles as lightweight, sturdy, and easy to adjust and pack, suitable for various activities. However, some report issues with durability, such as the poles breaking or getting stuck after limited use. There are also complaints about poor customer service and difficulty obtaining replacement parts. Overall, the poles seem to work well when they function, but may not be as durable as other options.

The adjustment system is very solid. I also like how the snow baskets are shaped to lay flat against a backpack when stowed.

Snapped under normal use
Bought these poles less than one year ago, one snapped in half when planted in snow. Submitted 4 times to MSR/Cascade Designs warranty site. No response. No phone number to call. Expensive and horrible customer service

Backcountry's review system does NOT allow editing reviews, so I had to create another review. C'mon guys! UPDATE: I did in fact hear from Cascade Designs (they own MSR) and they WILL warranty their product; they're sending me a new pair in a couple of days. I guess their move to Reno, NV has delayed customer service response times by about a month, but when they do respond, it's a really nice outcome. They should improve their response times now that their backlog is winding down. Yay MSR! (Boo! on Backcountry for not allowing edits to product reviews.)
