Lightweight comfort meets thermal performance in the AirMesh Long Sleeve Hoodie
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I’ve been throwing the AirMesh Long Sleeve Hoodie into my pack for early starts and alpine missions—it layers effortlessly, breathes well, and keeps me warm even when I'm pushing the pace. The hollow-core yarn tech is legit, and that fitted hood is surprisingly protective for how minimal it feels."
When we need lightweight warmth without sacrificing breathability, we reach for the Mountain Hardwear AirMesh Long Sleeve Hoodie. Designed with hollow-core yarns and a brushed mesh interior, this hoodie keeps us warm in the early chill while venting excess heat as we warm up on the trail or skintrack. Whether worn solo on crisp autumn days or as a midlayer deep into winter, it's a versatile staple we keep in rotation.
Built to perform, the AirMesh's high warmth-to-weight ratio and anti-odor finish make it an ideal companion for extended wear on fast-paced hikes, cool-weather climbs, or travel. The fitted three-piece hood adds a reliable dose of protection when temps drop, while the secure chest pocket and low-profile thumbholes round out the technical functionality.

Not the same as previous
I was super excited when the put the airmesh hoodie back up. But be warned it is not the same as the previous model. It is heavier and the outside material is different not as soft as before. Not really that excited about the new updates and may return it.

Airmesh hoody - light and cozy
Very light, not too warm, not too cool- just enough too keep my body warm and not overheated. It’s very breathable. It provides a lot of combinations for layering in all 4 seasons

How is this skimpy thing so warm?
My new perfect midlayer. Just warm enough to add on a cool hike. Pairs with a windbreaker to replace a heavy fleece. Layers easily under a puffy for extreme cold. More durable than alpha direct. And just 5.6 oz (156g) in XL? Love it.

Best Base Layer, Period
AirMesh is the warmest, lightest, most comfy base layer ever, especially when damp. Barely touches the skin, breathes so well that moisture just moves away. I have tried all others in 60 years of biking, hiking, skiing, and mountaineering. I have 3 of these so they are never all in the laundry.

A great part of a warmth solution
I got this on a recommendation from others and what a great buy! On a chilly, wet weekend backpacking, I kept this on even as temperatures fluctuated wildly. The AirMesh is super-light and still comfortable as a midlayer even when I stopped or started moving again, and while others pulled on jackets, took off jackets, pulled on jackets over and over. It has already earned its way into my kit going forward.

Super warmth for weight
Super lightweight, very warm. Perfect to hike or ski when there's a chill in the air but not much wind. Pair with a windbreaker and you'll overheat. Stretch fabric in thumbs and face are a very nice touch. Time will tell for durability.
