AirMesh 1/2-Zip Pullover—ultralight warmth and fast-drying performance in any conditions
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I was blown away by how warm this pullover is for the weight. The mesh fabric feels almost weightless but traps heat better than any midlayer I’ve used. I wear it climbing, hiking, or even lounging—it’s that comfortable and versatile."
The Mountain Hardwear AirMesh 1/2-Zip Pullover proves that a single layer can transform your entire kit. Built from innovative hollow-fiber mesh that traps warmth and wicks moisture at lightning speed, this pullover feels impossibly light yet insulates like a much heavier layer.
Raglan sleeves and low-profile thumbholes keep movement unrestricted on steep approaches or while setting up camp, while the drop-tail hem adds a touch of extra coverage where you need it most. The 1/2-zip design makes it easy to dump heat in a hurry or pull on over a baselayer when the temperature drops. From crisp alpine starts to chilly evenings by the fire, this is the layer you’ll reach for every time.

Very efficient base layer.
I'm a ski instructor at a Catskill, NY mountain. One particular day the early morning temp was 9F, by mid-day it was up to 36F, and I knew what the range was going to be that day. The only layer I wore under my uniform jacket was the AirMesh 1/2 Zip. Although a bit cold in the early AM, the base layer shirt kept me comfortable all day long. I liked it so much I ordered 3 more of the colors. A great piece of gear.

Polartec alpha competitor
Very light and breathable. Great for ultralight backpacking. Works well as a base layer in extreme cold, over a t shirt during high exertion exercise or as an extra warm layer to throw in your pack at minimal weight cost. Allows air to pass through very easily so pairing it with a shell or windbreaker makes for a great layering system. Fit is a little trim in the chest and a little short. I’m usually between a large and an xl in most tops. Large in this piece is trim and fits more like a base layer and an xl fits more like a fleece or sweater.

Light and warm!
This 1/2 zip pullover is extremely light weight, yet for the weight it’s probably the warmest that I’ve ever owned. It looks great, fits great, and was surprisingly warm.

Blue AirMesh 1/2 Zip
This is my second "AirMesh 1/2 Zip" I own, last year I bought a black version. I really love this product, its extremely light weight, and very durable. I like the design and fit which for me is a "small" for my 5ft6in frame. It keeps me warm yet not overly hot, due to the mesh construction. Its so comfortable that I wear it most everyday, and prefer it to my fleece pullover. The only downside is that its not designed for windy conditions. If its cold and windy, you will feel it wearing this product.
