Mammut Barryvox S – Top-Tier Beacon for Serious Backcountry Use
I’ve been using the Barryvox S both in the backcountry and at Bridger Bowl here in Montana, and it’s been an awesome tool to have in the kit. This thing is packed with features, but still super intuitive and easy to use—which is exactly what you want in a beacon. The display is clear, the interface is straightforward, and it transitions between send and search without any confusion. The range is excellent (up to 70 meters in digital mode, and even more in analog), and the search strip width is one of the best out there. I also really like the Smart Search and auto-revert functions—small things that make a big difference in a real scenario. Battery life has been solid, and the device holds up well in cold conditions. It also has group check and multiple burial support, so it’s perfect for both solo touring days and bigger objectives. If you’re doing any kind of backcountry travel, or even just riding inbounds with sidecountry access like at Bridger, this is a top-of-the-line beacon. I highly recommend it. Peace of mind and performance in one.

A truly graet beacon
I used this beacon throughout the 24-25 winter season and have been very happy with it. It's easy to use with clear and straightforward controls. The alarms and other sounds work great and are distinctive. Easy to use for a beginner and also has expert-level functionality. Highly recommend.

The Barryvox has a great search radius and the most intuitive controls I've seen in a beacon. Luckily I have never needed to perform a real search with it but during practice sessions and in my Avy 1 it definitely outclassed the other beacons in the group. Hopefully I won't ever need to put it to use but I'm confident it would perform if needed.
