Why We Like The Fuego Hooded Down Jacket
Aptly-named for its lasting warmth, the Cotopaxi Fuego Hooded Down Jacket is a tried-and-true insulated layering staple in our cold-weather wardrobe. Responsibly sourced, water-resistant 800-fill goose down insulation makes this jacket one that you won't want to take off from fall to spring, while the DWR-finished nylon ripstop shell gives you some added protection against abrasion and light precipitation. The streamlined fit, scuba hood, and elastic binding throughout ensure you move with a full range of motion through the mountains, and the included stuff sack safely stashes this jacket in your pack when the adventure comes to an end.

So surprised how functional and compact it is
Took it camping and trekking with me and couldn’t have asked for more. Kept me warm and protected through freezing weather and packed up into a tiny pouch when I finished. Runs bigger than I expected but aside from that, this was everything I could ask for

New favorite jacket
This is the usual quality you expect from Cotopaxi, which is excellent. It’s lightweight, so perfect for travel, but also a great everyday jacket. Should layer well.

Finally !!
I’ve been wanting a hooded puffy that stuffs into itself for a while but was waiting specifically for a cotopaxi sale ! (Lifetime guarantee, yes please !) My favorite part is that it’s thinner than my old REI down jacket but just as if not warmer :) I was debating between the XS or XXS but ended up going for the XS which is my usual size (4’10 and 115lbs). It is roomy enough for comfortably layering a sweatshirt or thick sweater but doesn’t look oversized by itself. If you don’t plan on layering ever, than maybe size down. I’m also glad that the women’s cut isn’t overly tailored as some brands tend to do so. It has the slightest taper and is a bit shorter in the torso compared to the men’s but there isn’t a stark difference. Also a note on materiality, it’s a softer material than a lot of outer jackets and I found that it doesn’t make an awful swishy sound , woo !! Pockets are a win, I really love that there’s an inside zip pocket AND an open drop pocket. Only features that could be nice but not necessary: if the hooded could be zipped away into the collar (stash-able but not detachable) and if there was an outer vertical zipped chest pocket on one side.

Fuego Hooded Down Jacket - Women's
Wore this jacket over a base layer for a trip to Mt Rainier in mid June and it was perfect for the 30-50 degree weather.
