Alpine Crux III Down Jacket brings high-loft warmth and waterproof comfort to cold alpine missions

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I packed the Alpine Crux III for a weeklong ice climbing trip in the San Juans and it held up to everything—snowfall, wind, and those freezing belay stints. Warm, light, packs small, and I love that it layers easily under a shell or stands alone on dry days."

From sub-zero summit pushes to snowy basecamp coffee rituals, the Alpine Crux III Down Jacket delivers warmth you can count on. Columbia packs this alpine essential with 800-fill RDS-certified goose down, wrapped in a water-resistant shell enhanced by Omni-SHIELD™ and Heat Seal construction to trap warmth without letting moisture in. Omni-HEAT™ Infinity technology reflects body heat with a boost of thermal performance—perfect for alpine athletes chasing vertical objectives.

We count on this jacket's thoughtful alpine design. The adjustable hood cinches over a helmet, and the packable hand pocket makes it easy to stash when you're working uphill. INTERCHANGE compatibility expands its versatility, and abrasion-resistant overlays at key wear zones give it the durability needed for harnessed missions or loaded packs.

Warm. But wish the zipper wasn't cheap plastic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really warm. Feels like it's slim in the chest but long in the torso.

Worst product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is too small. It is not warm at all. Horrible inventon. Only appearance looks great. Size is wrong too unless you are as skinny as a skeleton. If you are Medium size you should get XL. That is how small it is

Very Nice - Runs Small

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very Nice - Runs Small at the waist. Otherwise a very good looking, warm, and light jacket.

Comfort stylishness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s the most fashion forward thing I’ve purchased in a long time, yet it doesn’t look trendy with its soft sheen and classic silhouette. Most importantly, it’s very warm!

Great jacket.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great jacket. Runs small, so if you're in between sizes, I'd go up one. Very light weight and warm.

Junk jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 0/10 Bad product like a trash bag. #sweepstakes wouldn’t recommend and it’s not even warm like the 650 down fill. Yet somehow this one ranks higher. Trash bag jacket

3 week old jacket already tearing up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the jacket. However, I have only had this jacket for a little over 2 weeks and it is already breaking down. There are at least two spots that I have found that have the white colored interior coming out of the seems. The lettering is also coming off already. I haven't even had this jacket for 3 weeks. For something that is this expensive designed to be worn while doing activities in nature, I would expect it be able to handle general wear for just a few weeks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] light, warm & comfortable, but only in the market not too long, it’s pricey.
