Skydome 4-Person Camping Tent sets up in under 5 minutes with extra headroom and weather protection

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"This tent is perfect for quick and easy camping. The pre-attached poles make setup effortless, and the nearly vertical walls give it a roomy, open feel. It holds up well in unpredictable weather thanks to the WeatherTec system, and the wider door makes getting gear in and out simple. Whether car camping or heading into the backcountry, it’s a great option for a comfortable night outdoors."

With a setup time of under five minutes, the Skydome 4-Person Camping Tent gets us from unpacking to unwinding in record time. Pre-attached poles make pitching a breeze, while the nearly vertical walls create a spacious interior with 20% more headroom than traditional dome tents.

When the skies turn, the WeatherTec system keeps us dry with welded corners and inverted seams, and the sturdy frame is tested to withstand 35 mph winds. A wider door makes it easy to move in airbeds, sleeping bags, and gear, while built-in mesh pockets and a gear loft keep small essentials organized. Compact yet roomy, this tent is a top pick for car camping and backpacking alike.

The camping tent is praised for its easy setup, spacious interior, and durability in inclement weather. Customers consider it a good value, though some note it can get hot in direct sunlight and there may be minor issues with the zipper. Overall, the tent is viewed as an excellent choice for family camping or as a starter tent.

Buy it

This tent is amazing! It is SO easy to set it up. I was able to do it under 10 minutes while feral children were running around me ""helping" and asking if it was time to roast s'mores yet. Easy to put up, easy takedown and does its job perfectly in between.

Hail Tested

First night out in this tent I experiences a hailstorm. The tent performed perfectly and kept me and my belongings dry. It sets up fast as described too.

Small but big

We have a few tents which we love ( the Montana being the favorite) but wanted one easy to put off for shorter camping trips. This fits the bill. Easy to put up lots of storage and I can still stand. Hint Coleman hinged doors would be ideal for all tents

Prone to Collapse

First time out camping with this tent on Lake Superior, and it collapsed in the middle of the night. See those bends in the poles between the "walls" and the "roof"? Yeah, they're prone to buckling at the first sign of a windy night. Not ideal.

Good for festivals!

We got to use this tent for the first time at a festival, and it worked great! We could tell it was a lot nicer than our tents in the past. It has a tarpy bottom already and on top of another tarp, we stayed 100% dry even through sudden hard rain. It’s easy to set up and take down, and has plenty of room, especially since we have a really tall air mattress. It does get dang hot in the sun though, but that’s somewhat expected for most tents I think

Best tent! Easy setup

Best tent I've ever owned! Stays dry and sets up very easily in minutes, even in the dark the first time. Sleeps 3 easily.

Coleman Skydome

Easy enough to set up but only got 1 night out of the tent. A moderate gust of wind came up the 2nd day using it and the tent flattened like a pancake. The metal attachments for the poles bent rendering it useless.

Definitely recommended

Took this camping last summer and it was super easy to set up on my own and only made easier by having a second set of hands. If I'd been planning on going alone I would've had enough space for both a sleeping area and a sitting area, as I had a friend with me it was the perfect size for both me and her with all our gear. The windows were big enough that we didn't get any condensation and the rain fly kept the bit of rain that we got the first night exactly where you want it - outside. We didn't get a single drop of water inside that we didn't bring in ourselves.

Rain test

It is ok. The light blocking does what it says and the rainfly is effective (we had a big storm the first night we camped), my only concern is that the tent walls are not fully impermeable (there's some degree of filtration or humidity coming in from the walls). The rainfly and the floor are well insulated.

10 Trillion Star Hotel

Great tent! Even easier to set up than the Coleman I'd been using for the last 8 years!
