Maximize comfort on every run with Ghost Max 3—plush cushioning meets smooth transitions
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I took the Ghost Max 3 out for a long recovery run and was blown away by how smooth it felt. The cushioning is incredibly protective, but the rocker keeps you moving forward effortlessly. It's stable enough for all-day wear, and roomy enough to accommodate my orthotics with no issue."
We run for a lot of reasons—stress relief, fresh air, training goals—and we reach for the Brooks Ghost Max 3 when we want maximum comfort with none of the fuss. Built with a high stack of DNA LOFT v3 cushioning, this shoe delivers soft, nitrogen-infused protection that minimizes impact and feels plush over any distance. Whether we’re logging easy miles or heading out for long walks, this shoe keeps us comfortable without draining energy.
What sets the Ghost Max 3 apart is the GlideRoll Rocker, which guides us through each stride with smooth, easy transitions. A low offset and wide platform add stability without affecting a neutral gait, making it a top pick for those managing plantar fasciitis or joint discomfort. With its breathable mesh upper, roomy fit, and orthotic-friendly volume, it’s ready for anyone who wants maximum protection in a surprisingly light-feeling ride.

Can't recommend enough!
I honestly could not be happier with the Ghost Max 3. It offers the same wider toebox as Altra running shoes without looking clown like... And the same cushiness as Hoka with much better aesthetics. The shoes feel solid on all surfaces. I felt like I could run forever. Great engineering in this shoe!!

The new version 3 feels great, just like the version 2, but they raised the sides on the 3s so they now rub up against my ankle bone. Too bad - the Ghost Max were my go-to shoes. I’ll have to stick with old version.

My Favorite Brooks Shoe
I have a wide foot and wear different models of Brooks shoes. I own the Beast Adrenaline and Addiction. I like to switch shoes a lot. Yesterday I received the new Ghost Max 3, and of all the Brooks shoes I own, this is by6 far my favorite for comfort and roominess. Love the shoe!

Very happy (first time buyer)
Extremely comfortable and very supportive. It's got a great balance of cushion while still having enough firmness under your foot to know you're stepping. First pair of Brooks, definitely not my last.

Great wide fitting especially if you have a bunion
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brooks ghost 4e wide fitting. The roomy toe box allows for toe to spread out and wiggle around. No pain or strain on my bunion which is a big plus. I am not a runner but I’m a walker, which I can walk long distances in these shoes so I loved the comfort, cushioning and stability for long kms.

My feet say thank you 🙌
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had plantar fasciitis, and the Ghost Max shoes have made a huge difference. Since wearing them, I’m way less likely to get a flare-up and when it does happen, it’s shorter and way less painful. What I love: - Wide fit (finally something for my big, fat feet 😅) - Super comfy and supportive - Look sleek and cool not like “orthotic” shoes - The material is breathable, and hasn’t stretched or dirtied up over time - Solid! tons of outsole rubber and that wide base mean they hold up forever even after long walks! - They feel surprisingly lightweight. - The new Ghost Max 3 is a clear upgrade, smoother, better version of the already-great v2 Only tip: go true to size or slightly shorter not longer. I’ve got four pairs now. Safe to say I’m hooked!

Lots of cushion for running
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had these shoes for a couple weeks now. I got a size 10 and they fit as I would expect. They have a thick and well cushioned feel to them. They give sort of a bounce when running in them. They make it much more comfortable if running on concrete or hard surfaces. I'd prefer just a little extra space in the toe box. They almost have too much cushion to wear all day though, as I found my feet feeling like they needed a little more support at the end of a long day. I got them in white, and they have a "dad shoe" sort of look to them. I wasn't sure if I'd like the look before I put them on, but they look better once you are wearing them. They could use a little more rigidity in the heel as it tends to collapse when you are putting them on. They are breathable and cool even on hot days, which I appreciate. They get dirty very easily. Overall I like these shoes for working out or running, but I am not likely to use them as everyday casual shoes.

A Solid Choice but not for everyone
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes were a disappointment. Although they looked great, they were simply too tight in the toe box, causing rubbing and pinching with every step. My feet felt cramped and uncomfortable, making them impossible to wear for extended periods. Definitely not worth the pain. I will Stick with my traditional Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23.

Great Shoes For Daily Walks!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband needed a fresh new pair of walking shoes.I decided to get him Brooks Ghost Max 3’s as I thought he could wear them on his daily walks. For the last few weeks, my husband has been wearing his new pair of shoes every day. He likes the shoes design. It’s current and modern. He likes the shoes fit and feel. They are true-to-size and comfortable to wear. His favorite thing about the shoes is how well made they are. All the fabrics and materials are of high quality. His least favorite thing is how the shoes are not available in a variety of different colors. If given the opportunity, my husband would highly recommend Brooks Ghost Max 3’s. As he loves wearing his new pair of shoes on his daily walks.

Ghost Max 3 - Suberb Sole
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the past month or so I’ve been testing a white pair of Brooks Ghost Max 3’s and I can say any issues with the 2 have been fixed. I found the shoe true to size and the sole extremely comfortable. Even shoes which are comparably smaller, the Ghost Max 3’s felt lighter on my feet and provided more cushion on my road runs. I put about 20 miles on these after wearing them casually for two weeks to break them in. I will say, they are large and clunky looking however, the function is on point. I would not use these to wear on purpose for an outfit, but it surely is in my running rotation.
