Here's what customers have to say
The reviews for these shoes are overwhelmingly positive, with many customers praising their comfort, support, and versatility. Reviewers noted the shoes are suitable for a variety of activities, including hiking, water sports, and everyday wear. Several mentioned the wide, comfortable toe box and minimal break-in period. However, some felt the sizing runs small, and the latest model may not be as supportive as previous versions. Overall, the consensus is these are high-quality, durable shoes well-suited for outdoor activities.

5 stars for intend use
So the good. Continued substantial improvement from the original iteration. Absolutely agree with those that point out the toe box improvement. I suffered through 100s of days on the river with that toe box, hoping it would self correct (side note, I am a 26.5 high volume shoe). Around town, rocks, walkin’ in general, (non desert) rivers, they rock. So here’s the rub, literally. I spend a bunch of time fly fish guiding off the beach and in mangroves off the Atlantic. Fine sand enters the shoe and gathers in an inner liner, right at the start of the toe box, decreasing the width of the shoe, more or less with sand paper. There’s no flush out or drain for the sand to release. So 5 stars for what the shoe is intended, in a boat on the the river (maybe not desert rivers?), coffee shop, date night, etc. If your guiding off the beach in Central America or the Islands, not necessarily the best…but again, I don’t believe Astral intended it for my use?

I also have a pair of Astral Loyak’s. The Loyak’s run a tad big in my experience ( I wear 9 in Loyak, 9.5 in the Brewer 3.0. Both have a purpose depending on outing. Love the footbed in the Brewer 3.0 For me, this shoe might just be the best water shoe ever produced. I just hope they have the same durability that I have had with the Loyak over the past 3 years.

Great shoes!!
I love these shoes, they fit true to size. They grip on the raft great and protects my toes from hitting rocks in the river. I should have bought these sooner.

A little small, but great shoes
They seem to run a little small, so order next size up. Very comfortable, my favorite shoes. I think I like the brewer 2.0 looks better than 3.0, but they all feel just right on my feet, and they're sturdy and great, so I don't care. Love them.

Much better than the 2.0
Love the sturdiness, fast draining and drying, and suitable for most river hikes.

TTS, Great shoe!
Really loving these! I wasn’t sure what size to get. Based on other people’s suggestions, I went up half a size. Definitely didn’t need to. These are perfect if you go with your regular shoe size. They’re sturdier than the Loyak and I feel like my feet won’t get banged up as much when I’m on the river.

Amazing shoe
Purchased for salt and fresh water fishing kayak adventures--first time I wore them, I walked down a steep ramp incline and into the ocean to launch my 150 lb. boat--didn't slip, tons of traction--and then walked around in them for a few minutes while I finished rigging my boat--crazy comfortable even wet?! Fished in them for hours pedaling my kayak and then wore them while cleaning up my boat and putting away gear (climbing stairs carrying heavy stuff)...just plain comfortable. I can't say enough about these shoes...how can shoes that you don't wear with socks be so comfortable (yes, I'm the guy who wears socks with sandals because my feet are uncomfortable.) Just ordered a second set.
