OK pad
I give this pad five stars because it works and does its job. I’m coming from a 3 inch pad though, so this one is a very thin! I actually put a Z pad underneath it. And decided it might not be worth carrying and if I’m going to use a thin pad I might as well just use the Z pad. I’ll save my thicker, one for colder seasons! I guess I’ll find out what I decide shortly!

Disappointing quality
After less than 4 months the seams are delaminating and letting air out of the mat. I wake up with a stuff, painful back and deflated mat. I am beyond disappointed. This is the second thermarest model which had delaminated for me. I will not give this cowboy company any more of my hard earned cash.

No bony hip pain!
I’ve used my Thermarest pad for several backpacking trips and I am grateful for its cushiness. My bony hips seem fine w sleeping on the ground somehow and I have to give credit to the pad. When I set up my tent I open the pad valve and go do other things. The pad inflates a tiny but not as much as I had hoped it would. I just blow it up and it doesn’t take that much effort. I was just now putting my gear away from a recent trip—my pad gets unfolded and I store it in a giant cloth bag I stitched up, behind an armoire—where it waits for the next trip!

Disappointed
It didn’t self inflate like the description read. Sleeping on it felt like no more than a glorified yoga mat. So for the price point I returned it.

Perfectly Sized, Perfectly Warm
I bought this Therm-a-rest for a backcountry trip in Hawaii in January. It was perfect for a small sleeping pad with extra warmth. It fit with my height perfectly (5'5"). I had no problems with the wing-lock valve or the padding. Great product, hope it use it more in the future!
